Boarding Call 🚀

✈️ Private jets without the guesswork: how the market works, what to watch, and how we’ll make it instant.

Private jets: real pricing, no phone tag

Private jet charter looks simple from the outside. In reality, it’s a chain: owner → operator (AOC) → broker → crew/ground—plus permits, slots, and lots of messaging. In the U.S., business aviation is massive and mature; the majority of the world’s business aircraft operate and are serviced here.  Europe is catching up but adds complexity like taxes (e.g., UK APD on private flights) and slot constraints; the Gulf hubs—especially Dubai/DWC—are scaling fast with strong availability.

How a trip is really sourced today

  • Owners place aircraft with operators to avoid the admin headache; operators can charter the jet when the owner isn’t using it.

  • Brokers collect your request and ping multiple operators; quotes depend on repositioning, crew duty limits, and airport/handling costs.

  • Instant booking is rare because there’s no public GDS; most of the industry still runs on quote workflows (think Avinode on the trade side).

Pain points we hear from clients

  1. You must call/email around to get a single offer.

  2. Many brokers require jet card deposits (often $100k–$250k) to guarantee access and rates.

  3. Pricing is opaque; hard to know if you’re getting the best all-in total.

  4. “Book now” buttons often aren’t real—operators with 1–5 aircraft price by spreadsheet and availability moves.

What to check before you pay

  • Safety badges: ask for ARGUS (Gold/Platinum) or WYVERN (Wingman) operator status, not just aircraft photos.

  • All-in pricing: include positioning legs, de-icing, APD (UK), overnight crew, Wi-Fi, catering, pet fees—get it in writing.

  • Right class, right airport: light/mid vs. large cabin, and GA-friendly airports to reduce time and handling fees.

  • Empty legs: real savings but low flexibility; great if your timing is loose.

U.S. vs. Europe vs. Gulf (30-second view)

  • U.S.: deepest supply and fastest quoting; business aviation is a major economic engine.

  • Europe/UK: more taxes/slots; expect APD on UK departures and less “on demand” availability at peak times.

  • Gulf (Dubai): growing fleet and infrastructure at DWC leading to strong availability and competitive operations.

What we’re building at Travel Code

Our goal is true instant booking with human-first ops behind it.

  • Real inventory + instant confirm from vetted operators, not placeholder quotes (we integrate the trade systems, then verify in real time).

  • Transparent, all-in pricing (positioning legs, handling, taxes, fees) you can compare side-by-side.

  • Safety-first filters (ARGUS/WYVERN/AOC) on every option.

  • 24/7 human ops desk for crew, catering, ground transfers, and disruptions—no chatbot wall.

  • One itinerary with flights, hotels, and transfers in the same timeline (and eSIM if you need it).
